Just before the start of the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Otopeni, Romania, three World Junior Records - all recorded by male Japanese swimmers - have been officially ratified by World Aquatics.
On 19 July, 17-year-old Yumeki Kojima swam the Men's 400m Individual Medley in 4:09.38 at the Tokai Inter-High School Athletic Meet.
On 21 July, Shin Ohashi recorded a 2:06.91 in the Men's 200m Breaststroke at the 79th All Kinki HIgh School Swimming Championships. Two days later, Ohashi followed this up with a 58.94 in the Men's 100m Breaststroke.
Both Kojima and Ohashi are on the Otopeni startlists, where they are each seeking their first international swimming podium placing.
