Across three weeks of action, more than 140,000 spectators filled Singapore’s iconic venues - the OCBC Aquatic Centre, the World Aquatics Championships Arena and the open water swimming venue and high diving stage on Sentosa Island. But the event’s impact extended well beyond the water. Millions more tuned in around the globe through World Aquatics channels, creating a truly global celebration of aquatics.

During Singapore 2025, World Aquatics’ digital platforms achieved a record-breaking 4.9 billion impressions, the highest ever for a World Aquatics Championships and a new benchmark for the sport’s global visibility. Audiences engaged at impressive levels, with 658 million views on World Aquatics Championships videos during the competition – more than the total achieved during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The World Aquatics website welcomed over 850,000 new unique users, another record, while the global aquatics social media fan base surged to more than 7.75 million followers, with 600,000 new fans joining during the Championships alone.

Broadcast production amplified this reach on an unprecedented scale. More than 125 cameras delivered over 300 hours of live coverage, complemented by 20 daily highlight shows and a 100-minute championship recap produced for the 48 Rights Holding Broadcasters. Coverage spanned 145 territories, bringing the energy of Singapore 2025 to regions on every continent. Innovation was central to this success: the introduction of AQUA augmented reality graphics enriched storytelling across all six sports, while centralised production at the International Broadcast Centre improved efficiency and sustainability without compromising on quality.

Editorially, Singapore 2025 also set new records. With more than 74,000 digital news article mentions worldwide, a potential news reach six times higher than the same competition two years ago, and nearly 350 accredited journalists and photographers in attendance, the Championships generated global headlines and iconic images that will remain in memories well beyond the competition.

These record-breaking figures demonstrate not only aquatics’ strong foundation but also its accelerating growth in the digital, broadcast and editorial spheres. As attention turns to future editions, the legacy of the 2025 World Aquatics Championships is clear: aquatics cemented its place as one of the world’s most dynamic, innovative and widely followed sports.
