The confirmed lineup of diving athletes has been finalised for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. One hundred thirty-six world-class divers, confirmed by their respective National Olympic Committees and National Federations, will compete across eight medal events spanning ten competition days.
The Paris 2024 Olympic diving field will have equal gender representation, with 68 men and 68 women set to compete this July and August in the French capital.
The competing divers for the Paris 2024 Games hail from 32 countries, an Olympic record for participating nations in diving.
The individual and synchro diving events will be held at the Olympic Aquatics Centre from 27 July to 10 August.
The 6,000-seat capacity Olympic Aquatics Centre is one of two permanent sports facilities built for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The venue will also be the home of artistic swimming and the preliminary phase of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Men’s and Women’s Water Polo Tournaments.

Olympic History of Diving
Diving made its Olympic debut at the St. Louis 1904 Games and has been part of the Olympic Games event programme since. Women first competed in diving at the Stockholm 1912 Olympics. The synchronised diving competitions were added to the Olympic sports event programme at the Sydney 2000 Games.
Athletes from the United States initially dominated diving events at the Games. However, competitors from the People’s Republic of China have been formidable in recent Olympiads. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Chinese athletes won 12 of the 24 available diving medals, including seven golds across the eight medal events.
About the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification Pathway for Diving
The final diving participant list for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is based on divers competing in both the synchronised and individual events while achieving both gender and event balance.
World Aquatics worked closely with the IOC Sports Department and the leadership of the World Aquatics Diving Technical Committee and also consulted with its National Member Federations to develop qualification principles for the diving events at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Aquatics Olympics Qualification Principles for the Paris 2024 Games were published on 18 June 2022. For these principles, please refer to the following link: Aquatics Olympic Qualification System Principles.
World Aquatics published updates and clarifications to the Aquatics Olympic Qualification System Principles on 22 December 2022, which can be found here.
