The world’s top divers are ready to put on a spectacular show as the World Aquatics Diving World Cup 2025 kicks off in Guadalajara, Mexico, from 3-6 April. With a World Cup record of 120 athletes from 24 nations, this competition promises thrilling dives and unforgettable moments.
Guadalajara is back on the world stage, hosting the World Aquatics Diving World Cup 2025 for the first time since 2013. The Centre Acuático Code Metropolitano, Mexico’s top diving facility, will be the battleground where divers showcase their twists and turns. With a record-breaking number of participants, world-class athletes, and a historic venue, the Diving World Cup in Guadalajara promises unforgettable moments as the divers begin their journey toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Lois Toulson, Paris 2024 Olympic Games bronze medallist in the Women’s 10m Synchronised event from Team GB, expressed her excitement about competing in her first event since the Olympics:
"My first competition since the Olympics and since starting training again. While I have only been doing my hard dives for a couple of weeks, I am excited to get back out there."
Japanese diver Sho Sakai, a three-time Olympian, shared his enthusiasm for the event:
"This will be my first time participating in Stop 1 of the Diving World Cup. I am very happy to meet many of my friends in Guadalajara and to compete on Mexican soil."
Exciting Battles Await
The first stop of the World Aquatics Diving World Cup packs nine events into four thrilling days. Fans can look forward to individual and synchronised competitions across the 3m springboard and 10m platform.
Expect exciting events, especially in the women’s 3m springboard, where Chen Yiwen, Maddison Keeney, and Chang Yani – the podium finishers from Paris 2024 Olympic Games – set to continue their dominance. Meanwhile, the Mexican home crowd will cheer on their athletes, eager to see them claim gold on home soil.
Among the big names headlining this World Cup are China’s Olympic champions Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi, the Paris 2024 Olympic silver synchronised duo Juan Manuel Celaya Hernández and Osmar Olvera Ibarra, and Great Britain’s diving star Jack Laugher, who begins his journey toward a possible fifth Olympic appearance at Los Angeles 2028.
