
This past year was a banner one as swimmers put on world record-breaking performances in the pool – and not only on the elite end of the sport.
The masters' age group swimmers made for a rewriting of the record books in 2024, with 106 world records set last year in the long course (50m) pool—52 by men, 51 by women, and 3 in relay events.
A Record-Breaking Meet | World Aquatics Masters Championships – Doha 2024
The World Aquatics Masters Championships – Doha 2024 helped fuel this barrage of record-setting performances, as 21 masters world records fell last February inside the Qatari Aspire Dome – 10 from men, 8 from women and 3 in the relays.
Short Course Success | Masters Swimmers Shine in the 25m Pool
In 2024, the 25m pool saw a similar armada of athletes set master-aged world records, with 66 on the women’s side, 52 on the men’s, and 47 in relays.
