LAUSANNE – The 2025 World Aquatics General Congress will take place on 29 July 2025 in Singapore, coinciding with the World Aquatics Championships – Singapore 2025. This key event will gather leaders from across the global aquatic sports community to discuss and decide on the organisation’s future initiatives and the global direction of aquatic sports.

World Aquatics has issued a Call for Nominations for key governance and technical positions within the organisation. National Federations are invited to submit candidates for the following roles:

  • World Aquatics Bureau Member (World-at-Large)
  • Aquatics Integrity Unit
  • Audit Committee
  • Athletes' Committee
  • Coaches Committees
  • Technical Committees (Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, Open Water Swimming, High Diving and Masters)
  • Sport Medicine Committee
  • Referees and Officials Committees

All interested candidates are invited to contact the National Federation of their country.

The submission process for nominations is now open on the World Aquatics GMS platform via the "My NF" tab on the World Aquatics GMS Platform. The deadline for receiving nominations is by 23:59 GMT, on 20 January 2025.

All candidates will undergo eligibility reviews conducted by the Aquatics Integrity Unit Investigatory Body under Article 37 of the World Aquatics Integrity Code.

Candidates for the Athletes’ Committee election also need to apply through the GMS platform via their National Federation.

Key Dates to Note:

  • 1 December 2024: Nomination period open

  • 20 January 2025: Nomination deadline

  • 11 July – 3 August 2025: Election and appointment period during the Championships
