Excitement is building with just 50 days to go until the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) - Budapest 2024, set to take place in the Hungarian capital from 10-15 December.
Budapest, a renowned host of international swimming events - including the 2017 and 2022 World Aquatics Championships - will welcome the Swimming Championships (25m) for the first time.
The hub of all the action in Hungary’s vibrant capital will be the Duna Arena, a state-of-the-art venue with a seating capacity of over 5,300 during competition. Its pool has seen a number of records broken, including Adam Peaty’s men’s 50m breaststroke world record in the World Aquatics Championships 2017, where he became the first man to break the 26-second barrier. Additionally, in the same competition, Sarah Sjostrom clocked a remarkable time of 23.67 in the women’s 50m freestyle.
This year’s competition promises to be particularly exciting. The 25m pool format is known for its fast-paced and dynamic races, but the contest will be particularly fierce as athletes aim to build on or defend their performances from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games earlier this year.
As seen in past competitions, anything can happen, making this an event not to be missed by fans worldwide. Mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable week of competition!
