The world’s largest masters aquatics competition gets underway today in Qatar as 2594 athletes from 85 countries compete across five disciplines at the World Aquatics Masters Championships – Doha 2024.
The World Aquatics Masters Championships are the flagship age group event for masters aquatics athletes, with competitions in swimming, water polo, diving, artistic swimming and open water swimming.
Venues from the recently completed World Aquatics Championships – Doha 2024 will be used for the event, with competitors and fans alike able to experience the world-class Aspire Dome, Hamad Aquatic Centre, and Old Doha Port.
With the Qatari capital city, Doha, as a backdrop, athletes will also be able to enjoy fantastic hospitality, a diverse culinary scene, and spectacular landscapes and travel experiences during the competition.
World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam recently shared his excitement at the opportunities the World Aquatics Master Championships would provide for age-group masters swimmers.
He said, “I hope you will join me in cheering on the incredible athletic performances”.
