The Stabilization Committee’s duties and obligations remain unchanged and are tasked with ensuring that the Mexican Swimming Federation adheres to the highest standards of good governance and transparency. This includes, but is not limited to, managing the daily affairs of the National Federation, and selecting and entering Mexican athletes in international competition for any of the aquatic sports. 

Activated in the best interests of all Mexican athletes, the World Aquatics Bureau confirmed the implementation of the Mexico Aquatics Stabilization Committee on 14 January 2022. The Committee’s engagement started immediately from that date.

The Mexico Aquatics Stabilization Committee is now chaired by Maria Jose ALCALA, a former World Aquatics Championship medallist in diving and President of the Mexico National Olympic Committee (NOC). The Stabilization Committee’s General Secretary is Mario Garcia, who also works for the Mexico NOC.

The Mexico Aquatics Stabilization Committee is also comprised of the following members:

  • Adriana JIMÉNEZ TREJO (High Diving)
  • José Manuel SOTOMAYOR LANDECHO (Swimming)
  • Jorge CASTRO HERNÁNDEZ (Water Polo)
  • Rodolfo ZARCO RODRIGUEZ (Open Water)
