Having already hosted memorable spectacles over the course of the 2026 season, both Fort Lauderdale and Porto Flavia return to the calendar for the forthcoming campaign.

A firm favourite among athletes and spectators, the south Florida city provides the backdrop to the season opener from 10-11 April, before the picturesque surroundings of Porto Flavia, located on Sardinia’s coast, plays host to the action from 12-13 June.

World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam said: “The World Aquatics High Diving World Cup continues to grow in stature, and confirming Fort Lauderdale and Porto Flavia as our stops for the forthcoming season gives athletes two outstanding venues on the road to Budapest 2027.”

“This competition is renowned for bringing together some of the world’s most talented high divers to captivate audiences with extraordinary creativity and artistry. Against the backdrop of some of the world’s most spectacular venues, we are confident the sport will once again deliver unforgettable moments and high-stakes drama in 2027,”

The road to Budapest 2027

With the third and final stop in the 2026 season set for Zhaoqing, China in November, the addition of Fort Lauderdale and Porto Flavia reveals the full route that awaits athletes on the qualification pathway to the World Aquatics Championships 2027, held in Budapest from 26 June to 18 July (High Diving will be held from 8 to 11 July).

To cement their place at next year’s event, athletes will be required to have competed in at least one World Cup event in both 2026 and 2027.

Additionally, in a move designed to enhance the competitive nature of the event, the introduction of minimum points standards will require divers in the men’s competition to register at least 200 points in any World Cup event on the road to Budapest, while 160 points are required at any one of the World Cup events that lie ahead in the women’s competition.

“One of the highlights of the season”

Among the athletes set to impress crowds across next year’s World Cup is Kaylea Arnett. Having won bronze in Fort Lauderdale in May and gold in Porto Flavia in July, the US-native is excited by the prospect of competing in front of a home crowd once more.

“It’s awesome to know that Fort Lauderdale will be part of the World Cup again in 2027. Competing in front of a home crowd is always very special and returning to Porto Flavia – where I won gold this year – makes it even more exciting,” she said.

Great Britain’s Aidan Heslop was another gold medal winner in Porto Flavia, and expressed his delight at the announcement of the 2027 calendar: “The World Cup is always one of the highlights of the season. Having Fort Lauderdale and Porto Flavia back on the calendar gives us two incredible places to compete next year.

"The whole season is about building momentum and performing when it matters most, and I can’t think of two better settings for us to showcase the incredible power of high diving.”
