Prelude to What's to Come?
Jordan Crooks is a BEAST in the pool
The Caymanian will definitely be one to watch for in tonight's Men's 100m Freestyle Finals. He won gold in the 50m Free at the last Short Course Worlds in Melbourne 2022. Can he double the distance and claim his second career global title tonight?

Medal Events on Offer | Day 2 Edition
Here are the medal events on offer tonight:
- Women 100m Backstroke
- Men 100m Backstroke
- Women 50m Butterfly
- Men 50m Butterfly
- Mixed 4x50m Medley Relay
And here's the line-up of tonight's semifinals:
- Women 100m Freestyle
- Men 100m Freestyle
- Women 100m Breaststroke
- Men 100m Breaststroke
Can USA's Gretchen Walsh make history by breaking the Women's 50m Butterfly World Record in three consecutive swims at the same Championships?
What about Switzerland's Noe Ponti? Between the Swimming World Cup and Semis here in Hungary, he's already claimed the Men's 50m Butterfly World Record three times this year already. Could he make it four tonight in Duna Arena? He has three short-course World medals (two silver and a bronze from Abu Dhabi 2021 and Melbourne 2022) and an Olympic butterfly bronze from Tokyo 2020 but he is still hunting for his first global title. Could tonight be the night?
And then there's the Women's 50m Backstroke where USA's Regan Smith will be chasing the event's World Record that she already owns.
You know the Hungarians - and especially the hometown crowd - have the Men's 100m Backstroke circled on their calendars where the reigning Olympic champion in the 200m Backstroke, Hubert Kos, will be looking to add a World short course medal to the 21-year-old's growing collection.
And then the night ends fittingly with the Mixed 4x50m Medley Relay. Canada topped the morning heats, closely followed by Sweden, USA, Australia and Japan.
