After years of springboard diving and performing on the world’s largest cruise ships, Paula Gilabert Dolz has leaped into the competitive high diving career, making her debut at the High Diving World Cup in Brazil on 12-13 October.
“I could never have imagined I would get to this point,” Paula reflects. With 13 years of experience in diving, specializing in 1-meter and 3-meter springboards, the 26-year-old initially retired from competitions to take her talents to cruise stages where her passion for heights truly took off. After her cruise contract ended in April 2024, she moved to Madrid to fully dedicate herself to high diving. Just two months later, her dedication paid off, as she was called to compete at her first high diving competition in Italy.
"What inspired me was the ability to overcome myself in this sport," Paula says
Under the guidance of her coach, Ramon Fumado in Madrid, her training was focused and intense with sights set on the World Cup in Brazil. "I want to win over myself, do my best, and show everything my coach and I have worked for," she says, with hopes of qualifying for the 2025 World Championships in Singapore.
With two Red Bull World Series events under her belt and now competing in the World Cup, she is hungry for more. "I want to challenge myself to see how far I can go," she mentioned, setting her sights on continuing her high diving career and competing in the biggest events in 2025.
