Before the World Swimming Championships, many of these athletes will race in the upcoming World Aquatics Swimming World Cup, a three-leg series starting in Shanghai (CHN) and continuing in Incheon (KOR) before concluding in Singapore (SGP). The event will allow swimmers to fine-tune their performance ahead of the global showdown in Budapest.
“This is an incredibly talented roster looking to end 2024 with another strong statement on the world stage,” said USA Swimming Chief Operating Officer and interim Chief Executive Officer Shana Ferguson. "These athletes are no strangers to the fast swimming overseas, and we are thrilled to support their return to international competition as we turn our attention to LA 2028."
The Championships will also mark the senior-level debuts of Daniel Matheson and AJ Pouch, who will compete for the first time in a World Aquatics international event.
