Platinum 1-4 Semifinals:

Hungary never headed, leading at all breaks, to defeat Spain 5-4
Hungary led 2-1, 4-2 and 5-3 at the period breaks and kept its composure despite being scoreless in the final quarter. Spain had a crucial penalty shot blocked in the third period and the only double scorer was Spain’s Daniel Quinzada.

Greece beats Australia 9-7 with three-goal lead in opening quarter proving the difference
Ariadni Karempetsou scored two of her three goals as Greece led 5-2 and then turned at 6-2. The gutsy Aussies won the second half 5-3 — missing two penalty attempts to one in the third — but it was not enough to equal the powerful Greeks, who had the better of the major-foul count.

Gold 1-4 Semifinals:

Japan overcame Netherlands 10-4 and Italy repulsed Croatia 19-5 to set up an enticing final encounter. Japan kept Netherlands scoreless in two quarters and Italy built its victory on a 6-0 opening quarter.

Silver Round Robin:

The round robin continued today with four matches and a further two will be played on Saturday to determine the final placings 9-15.
