Men’s 50m Breaststroke: Nic Fink (USA) is the second man to win the 50m and 200m breaststroke at the same world short course championships, after Brendan Hansen (USA, 2004).

Fink (bronze in 100m) is the third male swimmer to win medals in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke at a single world championships, after Hansen (all gold in 2004) and Brenton Rickard (AUS, all silver in 2004).

Men’s 200m Backstroke: Radoslaw Kawecki (POL) achieves his fourth world short course title in this event, at least two more than any other swimmer. He is the first swimmer, male or female, to win a specific backstroke event at least four times at the world short course championships.

Men's 100m Freestyle: Alessandro Miressi (ITA) wins Italy’s first world short course title in this event. Filippo Magnini (ITA) had previously won silver in 2006 and 2008.

Men’s 1500m Freestyle: Florian Wellbrock (GER) is the fifth male swimmer to win the 1500m freestyle at both the long and short course world championships, after Grant Hackett (AUS), Jörg Hoffmann (GER), Oussama Mellouli (TUN) and Gregorio Paltrinieri (ITA).

Tunisia and Ukraine are the 26th and 27th countries to claim a medal at this edition (including Russian Swimming Federation), breaking the record for most (26 in 2002).

USA is set to collect the most medals at the world short course championships for the sixth successive time (2010-2021). Great Britain was in 2008 the last country other than USA to achieve this.

Canada can become the fifth country to win the most gold medals at a single edition, after USA (8 times), Australia (5 times), China and Brazil. USA achieved this at six of the previous seven editions, with the exception of 2014 (Brazil).
