Lausanne (SUI), April 20, 2011 – Dammam, Saudi Arabia, will welcome the water polo community from April 23-29, 2011 for the third edition of the FINA Men’s Water Polo Development Trophy.
This newly-launched event, whose main objective is to develop and promote the sport on a global scale, invites every two years 12 water polo squads from Asia, the Americas and Africa to compete on the international stage.
The teams confirmed for the 2011 edition are: Algeria, Chile, Iran, Kuwait, Morocco, Netherlands Antilles, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia.
The Kuwait Swimming Association hosted the first two editions in Kuwait City in May 2007 and April 2009. Colombia and Kuwait won the Trophy in 2007 and 2009, respectively.
