The ceremony was attended by FINA President Dr. Julio C. Maglione, FINA Executive Director Cornel Marculescu, as well as the high-profile Kazan 2015 delegation which included Tatarstan Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Vladimir Leonov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Director General of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects Azat Kadyrov and representatives of the freshly unveiled partner companies.
FINA President Dr. Julio C. Also present at the signing ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov, Republic of Tatarstan President, stated: "Kazan and our region’s expertise in hosting major sports events has been recognised well beyond Russia’s borders. It is safe to say that today Kazan is a modern European-standard city capable to host world-class sports events. In addition to the prestigious FINA World Championships, the city is expected to welcome at least another 25 sporting events in the years to come. It is a real opportunity for us to showcase Russia as a sports nation.”
