Approximately 6,000 participants from 100 countries competed across 657 medal events at the four-week event from 26 July-22 August. 

They included 2,595 male and 1,987 female participants in swimming, 46 teams in water polo comprising 510 men and 79 women, 124 male and 121 female divers, 15 male and 301 female artistic swimmers, and 329 male and 236 female open water swimmers. 

The oldest participant at the World Aquatics Masters Championships – Singapore 2025 was aged 97, underlining the value of aquatic sports in uniting participants of all ages and backgrounds, and promoting healthy lifestyles. 

Participants in total set 30 Masters World Records and 129 Masters Championship Records in swimming from 7-14 August. 

Singapore 2025 marked the first edition of the World Aquatics Masters Championships held in Southeast Asia, making it a landmark event for the region. 

It was the first edition in which the World Aquatics Masters Championships overlapped with the World Aquatics Championships, as open water swimming and artistic swimming began while the elite event was ongoing. Prompting many Masters participants to stay after their Open Water competition to watch the High Diving. 

It was also the first edition with a dedicated Masters Education Programme, giving participants the chance to deepen their knowledge and skills. 

World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam praised masters participants for highlighting the best of aquatic sports in Singapore. 

“The masters community is a vitally important part of our global aquatics family, and their performances at the World Aquatics Masters Championships in Singapore were remarkable,” President Al Musallam said.
