World Aquatics has transformed the 2025 edition of the Mentorship Programme, and it will be divided into a first phase this year where mentors receive expert training and education, followed by a second phase in 2026 where the mentors apply their learnings and begin work with assigned mentees.

The World Aquatics Mentorship Programme aims to inspire positive change and promote cooperation and exchange between National Federations, supporting World Aquatics’ Members in advancing their good governance, efficient administration and effective leadership.

National Federations can apply for one Executive Board or staff member to join the programme as a mentor, with a view to sharing their expertise with mentees and shaping a more connected global aquatics community.

Mentors will receive face-to-face training during the World Aquatics Championships – Singapore 2025, followed by monthly online learning modules ahead of the launch of the mentorship process in 2026.

This provides mentors with the opportunity to receive expert training, deepen their strategic knowledge and lead on delivering meaningful change for National Federations.

The mentorship process from January to June 2026 features a series of one-on-one activities between mentors and mentees, as well as online group activities.
