We put Kaylea into the question-and-answer hot seat. Here's what we got from her:

Dream Landmark: Hell's Gate in Texas

Kaylea Arnett has a special connection to Texas, her home state. Growing up, she watched the Red Bull Cliff Diving competition in Texas, and one location stood out to her. “I’ve always wanted to dive from the cliff in Texas called Hell’s Gate,” she shared. Her dream is to dive from this iconic spot while having her family watch her take the plunge. “That way my family could come and watch me dive from the cliff.”

Memorable Competition: Boston

One of the most memorable competitions for Kaylea was in Boston. “I would have to say Boston,” she said, reflecting on the importance of her first major competition. “It was my first serious competition, and it was memorable for sure. I did really well, and it was kind of a confirmation that I love this sport.” That moment sparked her passion for diving, setting her on the path to continue pursuing the sport she loves.

Celebrity Crush: Andrew Garfield

While Kaylea isn't into pop culture or following celebrities, there is one that stands out to her: “Andrew Garfield. Love him,” It was a quick answer when asked which celebrity she would invite to watch her dive, but it's clear that she has a soft spot for the talented actor

Music is Kaylea’s go-to ritual before competition, helping her focus and calm her nerves. “Music is the biggest thing for me,” she explained. She listens to heavy electronic and rap music to get her blood pumping and distract herself from the nerves. “Something that kind of pulls you out of your own mind, so you can be present.” Her playlist helps her stay grounded and energized before each dive.

Signature Dive: Reverse Triple Pike

Kaylea has a unique dive that no other woman in the world performs— the reverse triple pike. “I actually came up with a dive that I’m the only woman in the world that does this dive,” she shared proudly. This daring move is both difficult and dangerous, but it's exactly the kind of challenge Kaylea thrives on. “It’s really dangerous, but that’s why I love it.” She loves pushing the boundaries and always strives to bring something different to the table.
