The first medal event of the World Aquatics Diving World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico - the Mixed Team Final — saw Team China deliver a strong and consistent performance to take gold with a score of 489.10. Italy earned the silver, while Germany claimed the bronze, narrowly edging out host athletes in the final round.

“This event is so much fun to compete in. I think everyone did an amazing job.” - Italy’s Chiara Pellacani shared after the medal ceremony.

Men’s 10m Platform Prelims

Twelve of 22 divers have punched their ticket to the men’s 10m platform final, promising a thrilling show on Sunday, 6 April.

Olympic finalist Randal Willars Valdez delivered an outstanding performance, finishing first with a score of 518.45. The Mexican native led all six rounds and performed the most difficult dive in the event—the 109B (Forward 4½ somersaults in pike position), which earned him 98 points. Chinese divers Cheng Zilong and Zhu Zifeng followed in second and third place while Olympians Oleksii Sereda and Jaxon Bowshire finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

Women’s 3m Springboard Prelims

Twelve Divers from nine countries advanced to the women’s 3m springboard final, also taking place on Sunday, 6 April.

China’s Chen Yiwen led the prelims with a total score of 344.40, narrowly ahead of her teammate Chen Jia by just a fraction - Jia scored 344.05 to finish second. University of Miami teammates Mia Vallee and Chiara Pellacani followed in third and fourth place while Lia Yatzil Cueva Lobato will be the only finalist representing the host country in the women’s 3m final.
