Up next in the men's competition is David Colturi. The 35-year-old American high diver, David Colturi, is a seasoned competitor, and his experience and past achievements make him one to watch at the upcoming World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

We put David into the question-and-answer hot seat. Here's what we got from him:

A Dream Dive Spot

David Colturi, an American high diver known for his bold moves and laid-back vibe, dreams of taking his sport to dazzling new heights—inside The Sphere in Las Vegas. “It’s a big orb with projections on the outside and inside. It’s a concert venue, and pretty wild,” Jumping in such a futuristic landmark would match his love for creativity and pushing boundaries.

Favourite Dive Location

Colturi’s most memorable dive location so far? Thailand’s stunning Krabi region. “In 2013, we had a competition near Maya Bay and the Phi Phi Islands,” he shared. “It was an incredible spot.”

Celebrity to Invite

When asked about a celebrity he’d invite to watch him dive, Colturi picked extreme sports icon Travis Pastrana. “He’s one of the original X Games guys,” Colturi said, showing his admiration for fellow thrill-seekers.

Rituals

Colturi’s approach to diving is as relaxed as it is exciting. His pre-dive rituals include hanging out with teammates, cracking jokes, and seeing his physiotherapist. Music plays a part too, with a playlist mixing hip-hop, classic rock, and funk to suit his mood.

Signature Dive

If he could create a signature dive? Colturi imagines a “flat spin 720 to stand-up entry.” Dubbed the Dave Dive, this bold move involves a belly-down spin with a tricky upright landing. “You gotta get it around,” he said, laughing at the challenge.
