The anticipated men’s and women’s Division 2 team draws took place on Thursday in Lausanne, Switzerland, with the country representatives joining the draw online.
When and Where | Men’s and Women’s Division 2 Tournaments
Istanbul, Turkiye will host the men's and women's Division 2 tournaments. The women's tournament will run from 14 to 17 December 2024, with the men's tournament following immediately after that, from 18 to 21 December 2024.
The men's and women's Division 2 tournaments are open to any team from Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania.

Two teams from Division 2 will qualify for the men's and women's Water Polo World Cup 2025—Super Final, joining the six men’s and women’s teams that will be eligible through the Division 1 Tournaments.
The 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore will feature 16-team tournaments for men and women. The Qualification System for the upcoming World Aquatics Championships can be found here.
The winner of the men’s and women’s Division 2 tournaments will qualify for Division 1 of the 2026 edition of the World Aquatics Water Polo World Cup.
