On the Women's field: 

  • 2 teams qualified from to the Water Polo World Cup 2023: UNITED STATED, NETHERLANDS 
  • 4 teams from the World Aquatics Championships Fukuoka 2023: SPAIN, ITALY, AUSTRALIA, HUNGARY 
  • 2 teams from the Americas: CANADA, BRAZIL
  • 3 teams from Asia: PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, KAZAKHSTAN, JAPAN (replaced by SINGAPORE) 
  • 1 team from Africa: SOUTH AFRICA
  • 1 team from Oceania: NEW ZEALAND 
  • 3 teams from Europe: to be confirmed after the European Championships 

On the Men's field: 

  • 2 teams qualified from to the Water Polo World Cup 2023: SPAIN, ITALY  
  • 4 teams from the World Aquatics Championships Fukuoka 2023: HUNGARY, GREECE, SERBIA, FRANCE 
  • 2 teams from the Americas: UNITED STATES, BRAZIL
  • 3 teams from Asia: JAPAN, PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, KAZAKHSTAN
  • 1 team from Africa: SOUTH AFRICA
  • 1 team from Oceania: AUSTRALIA
  • 3 teams from Europe: to be confirmed after the European Championships 

DRAW PROCEDURES

The 16 teams are split in 4 different lines and respective pots. Starting from the lower line (line 4), for each team  picked, one group will be also chosen from four different pots.
