For the first time, an International Federation has opened registration to participants of all genders and gender identities in a new Open Category for the opening leg of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2023.
Competitor registrations will remain open until 30 September for the Open Category events, which will run as part of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup – Berlin 2023 meet.
A pilot project scheduled to take place from 7-8 October, the Open Category competition programme spotlights 50m and 100m distances across all strokes.
The new Open Category competition has only one requirement: meeting a specified event qualification time over the last ten years.

Prospective competitors may download the Open Category Registration Form and send their entry to opencategory@worldaquatics.com.
