60 divers from 13 National Federations will take part to the World Cup. With a dream team of 9 divers, People's Republic of China is the absolute favourite to claim all gold medals at stake. But watch out for surprises from USA, Japan, Australia and home Germany. A new event format is added to the program: the Mixed team event.
After a busy summer with FINA World Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Championships in two months, elite divers will restart the season from Berlin, Germany with the Diving World Cup 2022.
For the first time in history the Diving World Cup will be held in parallel with the Swimming World Cup at the same venue in Berlin's SSE Arena. 60 divers from 13 National Federations have registered for the competition that will be enrolled over four days.
Berlin will feature four individual events (Men 3m Springboard and 10m Platform; Women 3m Springboard and 10m Platform), four synchronised events (Men Synchro 3m and 10m; Women Synchro 3m and 10m), and the brand new Team event with four individual and mixed synchro dives performed by teams of 2 up to 4 divers.

ATHLETES TO WATCH OUT
People's Republic of China bring nine champions to Berlin with numerous Olympic and World Champions in the line up: CAO YUAN (86 FINA and Olympic medals) is back to the World Cup after skipping the last year's edition in Tokyo, Japan and alongside YANG JIAN will lead the male team. In the female field, reigning World Champion CHEN YIWEN will partner with CHANG YANI from the 3m springboards, while 15yr prodigy HONGCHAN QUAN (Olympic Champion) and CHEN YUXI (World Champion) from the 10m platform.
But it's United Stated of America to bring the largest delegation at this year's Diving World Cup. World Championships medallists KATRINA YOUNG and CARSON TYLER will chase medals from the from 10m and 3m events. Host Germany, will present a young team of divers led by 3m synchro bronze medallist at the last World Championships TIMO BARTHEL.
Malaysia and Japan have small teams but with great quality. PANDELELA PAMG will defend her World Cup title from the 10m platform and SAYAKA MIKAMI wishes to restart from where she left: a silver medal in Budapest 2022.
For the first time in the history of the Diving World Cup, Jamaica will have a team competing in a synchro event with YONA KNIGHT-WISDOM and Yohan Dion ESKRICK-PARKINSON
Canada and Australia, with 3 and 5 divers respectively, will also try to stop Chinese predominance. Two times 1m World Champion XI SHIXIN, former team China, is surely the one to watch from the Aussie squad, who can't count on the talent of MADDISON KEENEY and CASSIEL ROUSSEAU or this event.
