A total 5,000 visitors including athletes, officials, staff, media and spectators are expected to arrive this week in the Russian city for the FINA World Championships.
95% of participants will arrive in the host city by air and a minority by train or car. The peak arrival dates are July 21-23 and July 28-30.

In parallel, the first official training sessions kicked-off on Sunday July 19 with the Mexican national diving team being the first to test the Aquatics Palace facilities. Another strong South-American diving team, Colombia, joined the Mexicans in the afternoon.

Open water and synchro swimmers are scheduled to begin their training sessions on Monday July 20 also at the Aquatics Palace while the water polo players will begin theirs on July 23. The practice schedule of the Aquatics Palace is drawn up such a way that two teams are able to train in the same pool at the same time.
