Summer McIntosh won in 2:08.08, faster than the World Junior record she set at the 2022 Commonwealth Games last August.  It was McIntosh’s third World Junior Record of the meet after having previously won and set new all-time global age group standards in the 200m butterfly on Thursday and the 200m freestyle on Friday.

McIntosh’s 200m IM performance also set a new TYR Pro Series record, erasing Katinka Hosszu’s mark from 2015.

"Records are meant to be broken and just to be a part of that is always really exciting," said McIntosh. "Even though I try not to focus on them too much it's still very cool to see where I am compared to others in the past."

"I am just going to keep pushing in practice and seeing where else I can expand in my races and figure out my event lineup heading forward into the future.  I am just excited to get back to racing and heading to Canadian trials in about a month," McIntosh added. "I will be doing a bunch of those (same) races again pretty soon and there is lots to learn and lot to improve on."
