As one of the top events with high level in Asia, the Championships have attracted more than 200 athletes from 19 Asian countries and regions. However, according to the organisers, the top athletes from Japan and South Korea are absent from the Championships.
Synchronised swimming was held on Nov. 21-23 with seven events on offer. China won five golds and Japan bagged two.
The four-day swimming competition which runs from November 25-28 with 38 events on stake.
Liu, women's 200m butterfly winner at the Beijing Olympic Games, set a new long course world mark 2:01.81 at the Chinese National Games in Jinan, east China on October 21.
She continued her magic record breaking pace in the World Cup short course series as she claimed 2:02.50 in Stockholm, Sweden on Nov. 11 and 2:00.78 in Berlin, Germany, on Nov. 15. The 20-year=old Liu is expected to defend her trade-mark butterfly events in Foshan while world champion Zhang Lin will only show off in the 200m freestyle instead of 400m and 1500m free.
Zhang was the first world champion of the Chinese men's swimmers in history when he won the men's 800m free in a world record time 8:32.12.
In Diving (November 27-28), China sent a second-string line-up.
