"Today we can say with confidence that the Village has already become part of the history of Kazan and Tatarstan, part of the global history by keeping its name and becoming Russia's largest student campus. One of the special challenges that we all are faced with right now is the preparation for the FINA World Championships," the Village Mayor said.

"Surely, it's a huge responsibility for all of us. After hosting the Summer Universiade, we must keep up the high standards of sports event management and deliver the Championships that will go down in history and remain in the memory of every athlete and every visitor," Farid Abdulganiev said.
