Szivos, continuing on where his grandfather and father left off, but
seeking a gold medal that matters, was in blistering form with three
goals by midway through the second quarter as Hungary turned a 3-2
advantage at 5:32 to 7-2 by halftime.
Norbert Hosnyanszky scored
either side of halftime as Hungary won the period 3-2. Two goals early
in the fourth had the game at 12-4, moving out to 13-5.
It was all
Hungary, but it must be said that two late shots from China could easily
have gone in. Conversely, Hungary’s defence made that an improbability.
