The Brazilian women’s water polo team too, grabbed gold at the South American Games. In the final game, Brazil defeated the Venezuelan squad by 15-4. Brazilian player Luiza Carvalho was elected the best player of the South American Games. All in all, the Brazilian women’s team scored 54 goals and won all games in the tournament.
The men’s water polo team conquered the bronze medal, after beating Venezuela by 11-3. In the overall competition, the Brazilian men’s team scored 87 goals.
In synchronised swimming, the Brazilian team won all the titles on offer, walking off with nine gold medals. Brazilian synchronised swimmer Nayara Figueira was elected best swimmer of the competition and was awarded a special trophy in this regard.
